You were laid off from your job because your line of work is not considered to be an essential service, and therefore you have been deemed obsolete. (I am showing my age here quoting the Twilight Zone.)
You are growing tired of Netflix, and all of the negative stories on the news about the global virus pandemic that is affecting us all is just making you depressed.
The world around us is constantly changing, and nothing remains the same forever no matter how much we attach ourselves to our desires, everything is impermanent.
We are currently living in a once in every 100 years pandemic, and you are here experiencing it for yourself. If ever there was something worth writing about, this is it. Don’t wait for another twenty years to write about current events, do it now while it is still fresh in your mind. Now is the time for you to write your story.
If you ever had the desire to write a book and get the story inside of your head down for others to read, now is the time. What else have you got to do?
Sharing the story about your current situation will be great writing practice for you, and will immortalize the events that are happening in your life for your children and grandchildren to know for generations to come. Never before in history has technology provided us the means to so easily compose, edit our thoughts, and preserve them for a prolonged period of time.

Your situation is unfolding around you. You have the perfect material to write about.

The desire to write a book and share your story has always been inside of you. You have not written your story yet due to fear, or lack of time. Thoughts of writing your story are again permeating your thinking. That is why you have found your way to this website, you want motivation to change that.
Just start writing is how all authors begin. The only real question for you is to decide if you should begin with writing about current events that are happening in the world around you or write the story inside of your head first.
Writing about current events unfolding in your life will not only help to preserve them for future generations of your family, but it will also help with the healing process as you put your thoughts down in words.
If fear is holding you back then go into it with the mindset that you are writing for your eyes only. Write as if you will be the only one reading it, and your fears will subside.
If lack of time is your reason for not writing, understand that we all have the same 24 hours every day, it is just a matter of how you spent it that makes the difference between those of us who are successful, and those who are not. What if Ludwig Van Beethoven, or Johann Sebastian Bach were too preoccupied to play music? If Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, and Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn were too distracted to waste their time painting, think of all the works of art we would have missed out on. During normal circumstances after working our jobs we spend our free time doing things of little productive value. Technology offers so much to distract us including social media, internet news stories instantly, streaming movies, video games, and channel surfing on our television.
It is quite simple for us to come up with many excuses for not sitting in front of our keyboard and typing words from our thoughts onto the screen to form sentences and paragraphs. There are so many more entertaining things for us to use our computers for that will bring us instant gratification.
Procrastination will prevent us from accomplishing many things in life, and finishing or even starting our writing is no exception.
Nobody is going to write your story as you write, and the words will not appear on your screen simply by thinking about them. Technology is not quite that advanced yet, one day maybe, but not today.
When you write down your thoughts, you become an artist. Your words put together in the right order will become your masterpiece.
Putting pen to paper, or fingers to the keyboard will become the tools you use to create your work of art. You can make it even easier by using speech to text software and watch your words appear on the screen as you speak them.
They all had a passion for their art form and drive to share their creation with the world.
If you fail to make writing your priority you will never begin, and the world will miss out on your writing voice. Think of all you have to share with the world.
You have taken action in the past and worked a job you didn’t like for a boss who would replace you in a week if you quit, so get to work writing for yourself, your family, friends, and the world to enjoy. If not you who will write your story, if not now when?
